Our most recent set of Interns will soon be leaving the White Rose Brussels office after an engaging 7-month internship.
A little about them and what they have experienced from the internship:
Tom Exall studied Political Communications at the University of Leeds and has been working as our communications intern. As well as running all the offices social media platforms, Tom organised a recent event in the European Parliament for ArchSci2020 which was a great success. He has found the internship incredibly useful for both his professional and personal development.
Rohan Roy studied Politics and International Relations at Sheffield University and is one of two policy interns. Rohan has written two policy reports, using information gathered from numerous interviews with high-level stakeholders. He also organised the White Rose the EU Funding Teams trip to Brussels, meeting members of the EU Commission, Israeli and Swiss embassies. Rohan has found the experience highly enjoyable and an invaluable career opportunity.
Joe Ballard, also a policy intern, studied Politics and International Relations at the University of York. As well as writing a policy report examining future plans for a European Innovation Council, Joe has organised two events in Brussels which have helped the universities engage with European partners. Joe’s contract with the WRB has been extended for a month and he intends to start his masters in politics next year.
We wish all three of our interns the best for the future.
